Frankenthaler canvas joins Weatherspoon collection

Helen Frankenthaler is one of the biggest names in 20th-century American painting. Now, thanks to a gift from Linda Fisher Sloan ’82 MFA and Thomas R. Sloan, “Houdini” (1976) has joined the Weatherspoon Art Museum’s permanent collection.


Endowed curatorship strengthens Weatherspoon

Dr. Emily Stamey is the Elizabeth McIver Weatherspoon Curator of Academic Programming and Head of Exhibitions at the Weatherspoon Art Museum. With this newly endowed curatorship, the Weatherspoon’s capacity for programming has grown.
