Kyle Webster ’99 has served as illustrator for several issues of UNCG Magazine, including two covers. And he has furthered the artist’s age-old tradition of making his own tools: “I ended up building my career on bringing my training in natural media into the digital world,” he says.
After starting a business developing digital brushes – used by Pixar, Sony, Disney, and more – he sold the brushes to Adobe and is now a consultant for the company. His illustrations have appeared in national publications like The New Yorker, TIME, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times. He also has a Scholastic children’s book and a graphic novel under his belt and names the local brewmasters at Foothills Brewing as among his oldest clients.
